Minister Kristen Bowdre is a native Texan and a lifelong United Methodist. She believes in the sacredness of unions through marriage and understands the importance of marking the matrimony with ritual and celebration. Kristen has spent time in interfaith settings and is comfortable officiating for a wide range of traditional and secular beliefs.
In 2021, Kristen was called to become ordained through the American Marriage Ministries. Although new to officiating, she trained alongside Head Minister Reverend Rene Esparza to perform flawless ceremonies.
She works closely with couples to ensure that the ceremony celebrates and reflects their unique relationship and background. Kristen is a proud LGBTQIA+ ally and welcomes couples of all genders and sexualities with open arms.
Kristen holds her Master’s in Social Work from the University of Texas at Austin. She is the executive director of a local nonprofit that provides legal services to immigrants and refugees. Kristen is a proud aunt to two nieces. In her free time, she enjoys baking, reading, and exploring the Franklin mountains with her dog, Sookie.
