I have been working since I was 13 years old. I started my own babysitting and pet-sitting business and took care of all the neighborhood kids and dogs and cats. Little did I know that that would be the beginning of finding a way to help people, however I can. After receiving my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of New Mexico and a Master’s degree in Counseling from Webster University, I became a high school counselor. I have done this job for the last 17 years and I love my work. I love to laugh and smile with everyone I meet, especially my students. My goal is to help kids see their strengths and gifts. I think that they can tell that I genuinely care for them. I work hard to be a good listener–a necessary skill for a school counselor. I make it a point to ask the right questions so that people feel comfortable sharing their stories with me.
I am so excited about officiating weddings. A wedding is the beginning of so many memories, the first day of the next adventure, and a lifetime of love. To be able to share in that beautiful day is truly an honor. I am excited to officiate your wedding, helping you begin the next chapter of your love story. I will do everything I can to work with you to make your day as special and unique as you are. A day that you will remember with fondness and love.
I was ordained through Universal Life Church. I love to help people get married, to include same-sex couples and anyone who is truly in love and wanted to make a commitment. I am very spiritual, and I respect all religions. I would feel comfortable at a church wedding or a backyard wedding, or anything in between. I would also love to officiate theme weddings (my family loves the Texas Renaissance Festival!).

I was lucky enough to marry my soulmate, my best friend and we have been together for 18 years. We had the most beautiful wedding and our officiant made our day so special. Kevin is from Texas and always talked about going back. He told a lot of great stories about his love of the Lone Star state, and it wasn’t long before he convinced me that we needed to make a move. In 2010, we all moved to the Houston area. When I say “we,” I, of course, mean my husband, myself, and my two step-kids as well as their mom and her husband. We all wanted to make this move because we felt there were many opportunities here and the schools are excellent. We have not looked back since, although, I do miss New Mexican food! A few years after we arrived here, my brother and his son also made Texas their home. And a year later, my parents uprooted and came this way as well. There is something about Texas that pulls people in and makes them feel at home.
