Reverend James Moniz is a California native who recently made Texas his home. His experience as an author, actor, and officiant for over 40 years make him the perfect match for couples wanting an entertaining and unforgettable ceremony. His love for public speaking means he understands the importance of projection, vocal variety, and clear communication. He also uses his writing abilities to personalize scripts for couples wanting a more extensive ceremony.
As an actor, Reverend Moniz appeared on stage in multiple plays along the West Coast. While living in Las Vegas, he was cast in Jesus Christ Superstar at the Tropicana, the long-running show Marriage Can Be Murder at the D Casino, and Evil Dead: The Musical at Planet Hollywood.
He has also performed in numerous short films, music videos, and commercials.
James became ordained by the Universal Life Church in 1981 and has always been an inclusive and open-minded Christian minister. Shortly after same-sex marriage was legalized in Nevada, Reverend Moniz began offering services to all couples wanting to make a lifetime commitment to each other.
No matter who you love – if you select Reverend James Moniz, you will be welcomed with open arms on your special day.
When James isn’t officiating weddings, he can be found behind a book. He is an avid reader and freelance writer of children’s books, TV scripts, and short stories.
He also hosts a weekly podcast (Counter CultureWISE Radio) with his lovely wife Melanie Hope and their Golden Retriever Abby.
