Meet Minister Joseph Devlin
My name is Minister Joseph Devlin. I was born in Houston, TX but have lived most of my life in San Antonio, TX. I’ve also had the great experience of living in Alaska and Spain.
I was born into the Catholic faith then started going to a Baptist church at a young age. Currently, I consider my faith to be non-denominational. I began a musical experience at an early age through church choir. Later, through exposure to the mission field by my mother, I was called to get involved in a career utilizing music.
I have since graduated with a Music Therapy degree and have been serving others by touching all of my client’s souls with the healing touch of music as a Music Therapist. One thing that the Lord has taught me over the years is that if you don’t have a direction for your life, get involved with what you do know and that’s when He starts opening the doors.
In my experiences, I have found that life is about the journey, not the destination. I had a couple that are dear friends ask me if I could officiate their wedding. With that, I have recently begun my journey of being an officiant as it is a natural fit for me. I was able to give them an experience that they will have forever etched in their memory. I am able to combine all my life experiences to bring completion to any future couple’s journey through their marriage.
Couples should choose me to be their officiant because of the connection that they will experience with me and the ease with which they will find themselves enjoying the process. They will love the fun they will enjoy that is sometimes lost in the process of putting their wedding plans in place. My best advice for the couple is to relax. This day is all about the both of you, everything else is secondary. The goal is to make your day flow with precision and joy so that you will be able to focus on the truly important things of your marriage experience.
My favorite Scripture is, “God is my strength and my shield. My heart trusted in Him and I was helped. Therefore, my heart rejoices, and with my song I will praise Him”. Psalm 28:7
My hope and prayer for your life is that instead of sitting back and waiting for God to tell you what to do, you need to get out there and get involved with what you do know. Then, He will start opening up the flood gates of blessing and hope for your life.
