Minister Robby Powell is a Texas native who was raised in a Baptist household where he developed a solid Christian foundation. As a young adult, he began attending the Tree of Life Church where he volunteered with a youth shelter and co-pastored the pre-teen ministry and worship service.
In 2012, he decided to become ordained through the Universal Life Church and focus on performing weddings and couple’s counseling services.
“Participating in weddings has been the highlight of my ministry,” Robby says. He enjoys getting to know couples personally and helping them as they begin the next chapter of their lives. “I really enjoy seeing the love and smiles, hearing the joy in their voices, and knowing that I have helped to make their day special.”
Minister Powell’s first wedding was by far his most memorable. He united his son and daughter-in-law in marriage. They had a medieval-themed wedding complete with knight and princess attire. In his free time, Robby enjoys riding his motorcycle on the country roads, kayaking and swimming in the Frio River, and having barbeques with his family and friends. Together with his wife, he has raised 6 children and is grandfather to 9 grandkids.
