Where Can I Get a Dallas Marriage License?

In Texas, you need to head to a county clerk’s office to obtain your marriage license. 

Each county has slightly different procedures to obtain your marriage license. For example, whether you can apply for your marriage license online and whether or not you need an appointment.

However, the essential steps to get your Dallas marriage license remain the same. In all Texas counties you’ll need proof of identity and age documentation with you. Both partners will need to process their marriage license in person.

No. You can get a Texas marriage license in any county in Texas. In fact, some couples will drive to a county further away because they prefer the way the marriage license looks in another county!

How Much Does a Marriage License Cost in Dallas?

The cost of a marriage license in Dallas is between $75 – $88, with most Texas counties charging $82. Each of the 13 Dallas Ft. Worth counties charge varying amounts.

Dallas Marriage License County-by-County Guide

Collin County Marriage License

In Collin County, you’ll need to apply for your marriage license in person.

No need to make an appointment in advance, just show up before 4PM at the county clerk’s office on Bloomgdale Rd. Be sure to gather your proof of age and identify documents and both arrive in person. 

The cost of a Colin County marriage license is $81.

Dallas County Marriage License

As a large Texas county, Dallas County has an online system for obtaining your marriage license. The cost of a marriage license in Dallas County is $81.

To start, you must complete your marriage license application fully online. Once you’ve completed your online application, you’ll receive an order number to book your appointment.

Should you not make your scheduled appointment, you will need to restart the process with a new online marriage license application and order number. 

If you have challenges with the online application process, head to one of the many county clerk offices in person. Wait times may be longer, but you can still get your marriage license if your documentation is in order.

Denton County Marriage License

For Denton County, you have six different county clerk locations where you can obtain your marriage license. 

For convenience, Denton County offers an online marriage license application process. However, you’ll need to arrive within 3 business days of processing your application online or you’ll need to redo the application. The cost of a marriage license in Denton County is $82.

If you prefer, you can fill out the application in person and skip the online application. Just arrive at the county clerk office of choice before 4:30PM.

The fee for a marriage license is $82.

Ellis County Marriage License

In Ellis County, you start with an online marriage license application. Once complete, you’ll need to bring your confirmation number along with your proper documentation to a county clerk office near you.

The fee for a marriage license in Ellis County is $82. For added personalization, Ellis County has two different marriage license styles for you to choose from.

Hood County Marriage License

Obtaining your marriage license happens all in person in Hood County. No need to fill out an online application or make an appointment.

Simply head to the one county clerk’s office on Pearl Street before 4PM. The fee for a marriage license in Hood County is $77.

Hunt County Marriage License

For Hunt County, you also do not need to make an appointment to get your marriage license. 

You can find a PDF copy of the marriage license application online, but it is not an online system. The PDF application is available if you’d like to fill it out prior to arriving at the county clerk office. However, you can always fill out the application when you arrive.

Remember to gather up the appropriate documents before arriving. The fee for a marriage license is $82 in Hunt County.

Johnson County Marriage License

There is one county clerk’s office in Johnson county for you to get your marriage license. The fee for a marriage license is $82 in Johnson County.

You can either show up in person with your documentation in order to fill out your marriage license application or you can also submit your application online.

If you do apply for your marriage license online, your application will be kept for 30 days. You’ll need to show up at the clerk’s office before then.

Kaufman County Marriage License

you can only obtain a Marriage License in Kaufman at the County Clerk’s office. The physical street address is 100 West Mulberry, Kaufman, TX. We request that you arrive at the Courthouse no later than 3:30 p.m. and expect the process to take approximately 30 minutes.

Parker County Marriage License

In Parker County, you’ll need to fill out your marriage license in person. Just head to the county clerk’s office on Santa Fe Drive. Remember, you’ll both need to apply in person and with the appropriate documentation.

The fee for a marriage license in Parker County is $82.

Rockwall County Marriage License

Rockwall County is known as the Marriage Capital of Texas. The county clerk’s office used to be open 24/7, allowing for nonstop marriage licenses and courthouse weddings!

Though the county clerk office and courthouse now close at 5PM, some couples still travel to Rockwall County for their historic and beautiful marriage license. The fee for a marriage license is $82 in Rockwall County.

In Rockwall County, you must first complete your marriage license application online. Then, gather up your documents and head to the county clerk’s office to finish the application in person.

Somervell County Marriage License

The process to get your marriage license in Somervell County is simple. There is no online application nor do you need to make an appointment.

To get your marriage license in Somervell County all you need to do is show up at the county clerk’s office with your proof of identity and age and fill out the application in person.

The fee for a marriage license in Somervell County is $82.

Tarrant County Marriage License

Obtaining your marriage license in Tarrant County starts with an online application. 

Once you’ve completed the online marriage license application, show up at the county clerk’s office to finalize your application. Be sure to bring the appropriate documents and both show up in person.

The fee for a marriage license in Tarrant County is $75 and they only cash or credit card payments.

Wise County Marriage License

In Wise County, you’ll need to apply for your marriage license in person. Gather up your proof of identity and age and head to the local county clerk office on Trinity St. 

You can find the marriage license application online in PDF form if you’d like to fill it out prior. 

The fee for a marriage license application in Wise County is $88.

 

How Do I File my Marriage License in Dallas, Texas?

After your wedding ceremony your marriage license will need to be filed with your county clerk offices. Many Dallas wedding officiants. will file your marriage license for you.
