Elisabeth and John met in Cambridge while both attending salsa lessons. After a few dates, John decided to spice things up and take Elisabeth on a boxing date. She split his lip. He fell in love. After completing their graduate degrees, John asked Elisabeth to help him move to Texas. He decided he couldn’t live without her and hoped the move would persuade her the same; it did.
Their wedding, planned by Timeless Moments By Design, took place at the Botanical Garden in San Antonio. Reverend Rene Esparza, the owner of Texas Wedding Ministers, performed the personalized and beautiful ceremony. The ceremony site was decorated by pumpkins and fall florals by From His Garden. The couple themselves was a sight to see; John wore his Air Force formal dress uniform and Elisabeth wore a beautifully embroidered white gown.
The Saber Arch
Following the ceremony, the bride and groom attempted to pass by their family and friends under a traditional saber arch performed by members of John’s unit. They were stopped by each pair of saber bearers and were required to kiss in order to pass onto the next pair. Lastly, as dictated by tradition, the final pair gently swatted the bride on the backside with a saber. This officially welcomes her as a military wife!
While John and Elisabeth had some fun taking photographs with their bridal party on the grounds of the beautiful botanical gardens, their guests enjoyed a cocktail hour. Guests were able to take pictures with Reel PhotoBooth and dance to the music played by DJ, JJ Rodriguez. Heavenly Gourmet provided the delicious meal while Creation Cakes baked the decadent 3-tier cake.
