Where Can I Get a San Antonio Marriage License?
For all Texas counties, you’ll need to obtain your marriage license at your local county clerk’s office.
Every county has slightly different procedures for getting your marriage license. For example, some have online applications and appointment schedulers and in other counties your application is all done in person.
However, the requirements and documentation for obtaining a marriage license in San Antonio are all the same. You’ll need proof of both your age and identity and both parties must process their marriage license application in person.

All Texas marriage licenses are valid for 90 days and require a 72 hour waiting period.

The cost of a marriage license in San Antonio is between $71 – $82. The price varies depending on which county you obtain your marriage license from.
Do I need to get my marriage license in the county where I live?
No. You can get a Texas marriage license in any county in Texas. In fact, some couples will drive to a county further away because they prefer the way the marriage license looks in another county!
San Antonio Marriage License County-by-County Guide
Bexar County Marriage License
Bexar County is the largest county in the San Antonio area and encompasses most of the city.
Unlike many Texas counties, Bexar County has a dedicated office for marriage licenses. The County Clerk’s Marriage Office is located in the Paul Elizondo Tower at 101. W. Nueva, Ste 120. You’ll need to secure parking nearby when you arrive. The South Flores Street Parking garage is close, as is Bexar County Parking Garage located on 211 S. Flores.
In Bexar County, you begin the process to obtain your marriage license online. Bexar County offers online applications for marriage licenses and what is called an “informal marriage license.” Engaged couples will need to apply with the online Marriage License Application, not the informal.
Once you submit your online marriage license application, head to the County Clerk’s Marriage Office. You have (5) five days from the time you submit your online application to the time you need to arrive in person, so don’t wait long. Gather your relevant documents and head to the clerk’s office.
The cost of a Bexar County Marriage License is $81, and they only accept credit cards or cash.
Remember, even if you reside in Bexar County you can get your marriage license in a nearby county. If you live near another county, the county clerk’s office may be closer to you and more convenient.
Bandera County Marriage License
In Bandera County there is no online marriage license application. You’ll need to apply in person at the county clerk’s office located at 500 Main Street. The county clerk’s office is open from 7AM – 4:15 PM Monday through Friday.
Before you arrive at the county clerk’s office, be sure to gather your proof of identity and age. Then, you’ll fill out the marriage license application and apply in person. Remember, you’ll both need to be present unless you fill out the appropriate Affidavit.
The fee for marriage licenses in Bexar County is $82.
Medina County Marriage License
The Medina County marriage license process starts with an online application. Once you complete your online marriage license application, you’ll receive an email confirming your order number and giving you directions to the county clerk’s office located on 1100 16th St in Hondo, TX.
You only have two days to complete your application in person, so be sure you both are available to finish the application in person and that you’ve gathered the necessary documents.
In Medina County, the cost of a marriage license is $71.
Guadalupe County Marriage License
The county clerk’s office in Guadalupe County is located on 211 W. Court St in Seguin, TX.
To obtain a marriage license in Guadalupe County, you begin by filling your online marriage license application. Then, you’ll need to gather your appropriate documents and both apply in person at the clerk’s office.
In Guadalupe County, the cost of a marriage license is $82 and they accept only cash.
Atascosa County Marriage License
There is one county clerk’s office in Atascosa to obtain your marriage license and it is located on 1 Courthouse Circle Drive in Jourdanton, TX.
Atascosa County does provide a pdf online of their marriage license applications should you wish to fill it out prior to your arrival at the clerk’s office. Still, you can always simply obtain a copy when you arrive in person.
There’s no need to make an appointment for your marriage license, simply arrive in person with your proper documentation.
The fee for an Atascosa County marriage license is $82.
Wilson County Marriage License
Wilson County has a convenient online application for all marriage licenses. You can use the online form, or just fill out the application in person.
You do not need an appointment time to complete your application, just arrive at the county clerk’s office on 1420 3rd Street in person with your proof of identity and age.
The cost of a marriage license in Wilson County is $82. Wilson County only accepts payments made by cash, check or money order.
Comal County Marriage License
You’ll obtain your marriage license in Comal County completely in person. There is no online marriage license application or a need to make an appointment in advance.
Instead, head to the county clerk’s office at 150 N. Seguin St in New Braunfels and you’ll handle all your paperwork in person. Be sure you both arrive together and have gathered up documents to prove both your identity and age.
In Comal County, the cost of obtaining a marriage license is $82.
Kendall County Marriage License
To obtain a marriage license in Kendall County, you’ll do the entire process in person.
There is no online marriage license application in Kendall County. You’ll need to gather your appropriate documents and both head in person to the county clerk’s office at 201 E. San Antonio Street in Boerne, TX. Marriage licenses are issued between 8AM – 11:30 AM to 1PM – 4:30 PM.
The price for a marriage license in Kendall County is $82 and they accept cash, credit cards and debit cards.
How Do I File my Marriage License in San Antonio, Texas?
After your wedding ceremony your marriage license will need to be filed with your county clerk offices. Many San Antonio wedding officiants will file your marriage license for you.
